Exhibition of the month
I want my magazine to share a section covering exhibitions and events in the fields of art.
One selection from all around the world for each issue of the magazine which will be called "exhibition" or "event of the month".
For this photo-shoot I choose to search exhibitions or events in France, more particularly in Toulouse. I often go there for vacation and I am used to go to museums and exhibitions there, it is why I assumed it was the best place for the shooting of this article.
Inspiration
Mainly the website ,recommended by my Media Studies teacher, helped me to planned my photo-shoot, but I have also got inspiration from .

Location

Le Château d'Eau ( in Toulouse, France)
an old nineteenth century water tower that has been reconverted in 1974 to a Photographic pole.
The temporary exhibition that was offering Le Chateau d'Eau at that time really pleased me: series of photographs from Kourtney Roy.
Price: 5€

Kourtney Roy is a young Canadien women who had been know for her poetic and enigmatic autoprotraits.
She had work for magazines such
as Vogue, Numéro, The Sunday and
Times Magazine and has been the recipient of numerous awards and
grants.
Three series of her pictures were presented:

Selection & Editing
I have selected 8 pictures with the most interesting composition but with differences between them.
Regarding the editing part, as the purpose of the article is simply to present an exhibition and its location, significant changes in the images wasn't needed, however I have try to makes them more please to see and more clean and better quality.
My first step was to remove some spots on the ground, and elements disturbing the composition of my image, by using the stamp, patch, healing brush tools.
Than I felt the necessity to enlarge the photographs exposed, for a better visibility as it is the main subject. This was a new technique for me that I really enjoy using in this session. After I have selected the illustration, I went to the editing window to use the option "transform" then "scale",
The final step regarding the light, was to decrease the brightness and exposure of the wall where the photographs are hanging and to increase the contrast on the final picture. I also slightly modify the light of the artist's images for them to stand out more.
In addition for some pictures, I adjust the curves and the vibrancy.

Experience
I was confident before taking this photo-shoot, I knew the composition of my pictures needed to be really simple.
The purpose was to have a clear representation of the exhibition with the work of the artist and its location.
I even checked before how the Chateaux-d'eaux was converted, in order to have a clearer idea of my photographs.
However I was sure to use my Reflex camera (main and most efficient photographic element I have), but unforgettably when I arrived a sign hanging at the entrance forbidden taking pictures.
After negotiations I succeed to be able to take photos only with my phone. At the moment I was really discouraged but I took it as a challenge and achieved anyways a correct result.

The editing process was not the most difficult part for this photo-shoot. I was used to erase some details and to adjust the luminosity and colors, nevertheless I have learn to use new techniques and tools which makes this part challenging as well.
